Help! My sleeping bags are too bulky

We just got back from a two night trip to the San Bernardino mountains. Yep… We camped during coronavirus and it was great.

But in my never-ending quest to shrink down the amount of camping gear that fills up my truck I realized that our cheapy sleeping bags are bulky and not warm enough. They are taking up too much space in the truck and bringing along an extra blanket is annoying.

Camping with kids is great fun but the amount of stuff you bring can be overwhelming.

The best sleeping bags for families

So now I’ll start my search for sleeping bags that pack down smaller, lighter, and warmer. I’m sure I’ll have to spend extra money to get what I’m looking for but it’s worth it if you camp a lot.

Perhaps I’ll need to look at backpacking sleeping bag arrangements and setups instead of general camping bags. I have my eye on the AegisMax UL Sleeping Bag which is under 3lbs and about the size of a Nalgene water bottle!

Let me know if you have any ideas!
